The series Esencia de Poder/Essence of Power (2001-2002), is basically about two rich and important families, the Galváns and Riveras. Marian Aguilera stars as Alicia Galván, whose parents wanted her to marry the son of the Rivera family, Diego, so they can benefit each other's social and economic status. But Alicia falls for one of their employees, Javier. So a love triangle is born. The series revolves around love, greed and social status. Since the series is old, this is NOT considered to be a spoiler: Alicia later dies in a car accident (I'm beginning to see a trend...).
