On June 13, 1992, thousands of people filled the beaches of the coast of Empúries awaiting the arrival of the Olympic flame from Greece for summer Olympics Barcelona 1992.

25 years later, the L'Escala Town Council, the Department of Culture through the Catalan-Empúries Museum of Archeology and Vitel·la Bookshop paid homage to that day that was marked by a commemorative event that was held onSaturday, June 17th in Empúries.

Marian Aguilera participated in the reading of the text "Escoles dels oficiants" by Xavier Rubert de Ventós. Marian was then only 15 years old and was responsible for disembarking the Olympic flame in Empúries.

Marian Aguilera was at the arrival of the Special Olympic Games torch ceremony on 10 October 2012 in Vilanova i la Geltrú. It was also celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Games (more photos here and  here).

The torch of the Special Olympic Games on Friday, October 5, 2012 arrived by sea at 18.00 pm at Portal de la Pau, accompanied by actress Marian Aguilera, who accepted the Barcelona '92 Olympic flame when it arrived in Empúries. The 20th Anniversary celebration is celebrated before the Games begins.

Special Olympic Games Barcelona is from 11th to 14th October 2012.

Finally nearly 2,500 people have joined the March Special Olympics, surpassing the expectations of the organizers. The emotional highlight of the morning was the memory-tribute to the Special Olympic Games in Barcelona and Vilanova '92. A video of that meeting was played, which followed eight international sporting events, and in 2012 will be 20 years, launched the most anticipated moment: to revive the legendary scene of the Games. This time, Marian Aguilera, who in '92 received the Olympic flame from Greece on the beach of Empúries, presented the Games flame to the renowned archer Antonio Rebollo, who shot his arrow and hit the cauldron for the Special Olympic Games .
