Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/16/2017 -- Global Genesis Group has signed on to produce and distribute "R Culture," a thriller/drama feature examining the issues faced by victims of sexual assault.
Spanish actress Marian Aguilera ("Paco's Men," "The Reckoning") has been attached to play Mila, the female lead role. The film follows a young female Spanish attorney, who is swept off her feet by Jeff, a powerful and famous American artist. After they are married, they move back to his home in Los Angeles where Mila discovers her husband is a sexual predator and serial rapist. Now she has to make a stand to save herself and another female victim in distress, and bring her husband to justice in a world of his fans and enablers. "R Culture" navigates the psychology of rape, of victim blaming, all while accurately portraying the emotional devastation of sexual assault.
As more and more victims of sexual assault bravely step forward, the issues raised in "R Culture" are more relevant than ever. According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), 70% of rapes are committed by someone the victim knows. Of those attacks, 63% go unreported, with the majority of victims citing fear of retaliation as their reason for not reporting. Through its carefully-woven narrative, "R Culture" deftly unmasks the various cultural phenomena that perpetuate rape culture.
""R Culture" is a stunning representation of the adversity all sexual assault victims face. "R Culture" will further expose the public to this age-old problem and ultimately start a conversation that does not end once the headlines change," stated Rick Romano, President of Global Genesis Group.
The film will begin shooting early 2018.

THEATRE: Nine actress, a director and a good comedy “En el baño”
From: citeyoco.com
November 22, 2014
On November 20, and details emerge of a new play “En el baño” by Astrid Veillon, adapted by Beatriz Santana and Pilar Ruiz Gutiérrez. Directed by Gabriel Olivares. Premieres at the Teatro Arlequín in Madrid on Friday 28 November.
As mentioned earlier, “En el baño” will have nine actresses: Mar del Hoyo, Marian Aguilera, María Kaltembacher, Eva Higueras, Silvia de Pé, Roser Pujol, Mónica Vic, Chupi Llorente and Ana Villa.
“En el baño” is a French comedy written by Astrid Veillon in 2003. This is the debut as a playwright of this French actress, known for her work in television.
The play premiered in 2004 at the Comédie de Paris with great success: 50,000 spectators in 250 performances. When women go to the bathroom, it's not necessarily for a touch up. This screwball comedy presents the story of five women: Lu, Marisol, Ángela, Coco and Carmen, who come together to celebrate the fortieth birthday of the first one. The five ends up in a place of confidence ... the bathroom!
A surprise party. A birthday. A bathroom. It's Lu's 40th birthday and her three best friends, Coco, Marisol and Angela have decided to make the best possible gift: a birthday party at the home of her boyfriend. A surprise. Also by surprise Carmen, Lu's mother appears. During a night of partying, drinking, misunderstandings and discoveries without leaving a bathroom, the four friends face a night of madness, but also the truth of their friendship.
To give you an idea, everything takes place in a bathroom and it's a conversation between women. If you're a woman, maybe even you can imagine that talk. Maybe it even surprises you. If you are a man, surely you want to find out. And if we give you the option of looking for that lock?
“En el baño” is a game of seduction in itself a metaphor for life, a hideout, a work of introspection and a treatise on humans. All bathed, and never better, in an intelligent and sugarcane humor. And many, many, many bubbles. A bathroom is what you have.

Remedios Crespo filming "Flexibility", the prelude to a stressful world
28/08/2014 | www.fundacionava.org
The Andalusian director Remedios Crespo is involved in the filming of "Flexibility", his fifth short film as director and screenwriter. A piece that hopes to achieve an ambitious distribution.
The film recounts the events in Europe within 13 years, particularly in the stories of workers at a pin factory, who hold an emergency meeting to avoid the imminent closure of the factory, since the differences between workers and the company are not expected.
For "Flexibility", Remedios Crespo has gathered an experienced group of artists like Cuca Escribano ("Velvet", "El secreto de puente viejo"), Marian Aguilera ("Los hombres de Paco", "Al salir de clase"), Eduardo Velasco ("El Internado", "Bandolera"), Raquel Burbano ("Aquí no hay quien viva", "Hermanos y detectives") and Manolo Caro ("El Bola", "Muere otro día"); contributors are Juan González, Daniel Molina, Óscar Paniagua, Luis Navarro and Luis Vecino, among others, as part of the technical team; and production of Alta Manera Producciones.
